In Need Of Diagnosis, Inc. (INOD) How To Feel Better

Whether you are diagnosed or not, your quality of life will improve if you can find a way to feel better. There are many forms of health care and many ways of treating the body to relieve pain and to restore function.

This section of the web site identifies some alternate and complementary forms of care.  Information for some of the therapies is provided on this web site and when this web site is fully developed, there will be information about all of the topics listed.  Until then, you will have to do a web search for additional information on topics not fully covered here.

There are many forms of healthcare in addition to 'medicine' as practiced by M.D.'s.  There are, for example, Osteopathy, Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Oriental Medicine.  There is also body work which includes things as Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage, Cranial Sacral Rhythm Therapy, Lymph Drainage and Bowen Therapy, ect.. There are healing techniques as Colonics, Aroma Therapy, "The Healing Codes", "EFT" (Emotional Freedom Technique).

Below is a discussion of some of these.

Osteopathy
Osteopathy is an approach to healthcare that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine that treats a disease with heavily diluted preparations created from substances that would ordinarily cause effects similar to the disease's symptoms.
Naturopathy
Naturopathy (also known as naturopathic medicine or natural medicine) is an alternative medical system that focuses on natural remedies and the body's vital ability to heal and maintain itself. Naturopathic philosophy favors a holistic approach and minimal use of surgery and drugs.
Oriental Medicine
"Chinese medicine," often called "Oriental medicine" or "traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)," encompasses a vast array of folk medical practices based on mysticism. It holds that the body's vital energy (chi or qi) circulates through channels, called meridians, that have branches connected to bodily organs and functions. Illness is attributed to imbalance or interruption of chi.. Ancient practices such as acupuncture, Qigong, and the use of various herbs are claimed to restore balance.

Here is an article entitled "What is acupuncture? How does it work? What can it do?" by Constance Fraatz, who owns Still Waters Healing Center in Maitland, Florida. She talks about the benefits of acupuncture.
An Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine is an Oriental Medicine paper written by Barbara A. Dobron, RN, AP
